Piki Te Hauora started with two māori tāne (eggs) from Ōtautahi (Christchurch, NZ) who came together with a purpose of wanting to support and encourage our people living abroad to reconnect/connect with our identity as māori and what that looks like in today’s modern world.
We want to help guide our people who live away from Aotearoa, that we can still have that connection while living away from our Mother land.
We are passionate about helping our people, that is Māori / New Zealanders / Kiwis to recognise, realise and reach their full potential in all aspects of Hauora. As we were looking to develop these connections, we realised that the first and foremost importance was a connection to our reo.
After working closely with many māori here in QLD we realised that a lot of our trauma was due to a lack of identity and culture and understanding what it means to be Māori. We discovered that the want and need was massive and that we had the ability to provide a service that was needed for māori worldwide.
SO here we are whānau… creating a safe space, environment and the opportunity for you and all, to learn our reo and unlock that missing piece of yourself that you have been searching for. For many we have realised that this journey with us started as a place to learn a bit of our language, but it quickly became more than that and the deeper truth came to the surface of it being more about Identity, connection and whānau.
We are that whānau that you have been looking for and we look forward to supporting you on your journey to finding your inner self.
