We are an Organic Cacao Plantation in Tuana’i Village, on Upolu Island, Samoa. We export beans to a very boutique market in New Zealand for vegan chocolates and health food products. We have been supplying cacao beans to the boutique chocolate market and health food industry in NZ since 2014. We also operate a Cacao/ Koko Agritour and host an authentic farm and village experience, featuring cacao and chocolate infused foods and beverages.

Our journey as cacao growers began in December 2013, when I returned to Samoa for a change of pace and to recover from illness. The cacao plantation has been a profound source of inspiration for my return to health and personal growth through growing food organically. Tired of working alone on the plantation we sought out other women growers who might have similar struggles on the land. We found a farming community that rallied to advance the voices of women farmers in Samoa. The culmination of that gave birth to SWAG; “Samoa Women’s Association of Growers”, an NGO now forging a path for women growers in Samoa.

We also founded the concept #planetconscious to mean “more than organic” and doing everything in one’s power to protect the land, heritage and traditions of indigenous Samoans through protecting the land we live and farm on. We were the first farm in Samoa to advance on-farm tours and cocoa food events, paving a way for Agritourism since 2016.

Today we produce organic and ethical, value-added cacao products such as; 100%, 70% dark chocolate, cacao tea, cacao nibs and sundried beans for export and the local market.

Our community work, cacao training, and projects continue to encourage and empower women from all levels of society; to raise their voices in farming and social issues, and advance each other no matter what careers we choose. We stand for and advocate for women no matter what their cause. We also conduct business and partner with those who uphold human rights, ethics and the rights of women and children.
