Marie is a Niue-born Australian who has spent over half her life living in the land down under. In 1989 she moved over from the Waikato region in NZ. After living in Melbourne for 20 years, she now resides in Sydney. A natural powerhouse Sales woman, Marie continued her successful career in Sales as a Relocation Consultant with an international relocation firm in May 2017 after spending seven years in the real estate industry (three of those years as Co-Director of Ozway Realty Barclay).

The stresses and continual sacrifices of owning a real estate business alongside Marie’s husband Chris Barclay and the decision to sell up, close shop and return to the executive world, is the catalyst of writing the Chapter “I’m Still Standing” in The Unstoppable Woman of Audacious Confidence. A book released in Oct 2018 and co-written with 5 other phenomenal women in business including publisher and global speaker Nella Chickwe.

Coming full circle from above, Marie has returned to living life on her terms, establishing I Am Still Standing in April 2020 – a consulting and coaching business assisting people with their emotional well-being during and post trauma (specifically women and children who have been effected by domestic violence) and offers project management/consulting to companies and government departments needing a specialist for adhoc project work.

Knowing that it is a right of passage to leave a legacy and take care of her family and tie this in with the community, Marie has linked arms with charity ‘I Got Your Back-Pack NZ’ to start the sister arm ‘I Got Your Back-Pack Oz’. With the support of local Councils, Clubs, Not-For-Profit Organisations and local Women & Children shelters, Marie’s goal is to roll out ‘I Got Your Back-Pack Oz’ into Australia – starting in Sydney West and then Melbourne, supplying quality care packs to various shelters.

Marie has a strong and determined stance to raise awareness across the NSW community on the prevention against domestic violence, and as part of the bigger picture is also working on Project #1000Homes4Disadvantaged – to build/acquire 1000 homes over next 10 years to house women and children who have been effected by DV, the homeless and those living with alcoholism/addiction or mental illness.

Marie is also a mother to Mason 16, Reneeya 26, and Bonus-Mum to 4 adult children Daniel, Jared, Sam & Alexander. Her passion for personal development and empowering the lives of people (especially women), is something that sets her heart on fire and is evident in her persona and work outside paid work.
