Pacific Direct was an idea born from a dialogue session in Brisbane held by the International Centre for Democratic Partnerships (ICDP) & Pacific Connect in 2019. Thanks to the ICDP Team, Simone, Tina & Ben I have been fortunate to of attended a few of the ICDP & Pacific Connect dialogues and it was clear that of every program there was a diverse group of very talented Pacific business Entreprenuer’s. A mix of local & Pacific region small business owners collaborating and learning together. It was from these dialogues this initiative was created and out of a need to address a common frustration in our Pacific Communities.

Until now, the only way to find “Pacific Specific” businesses and support business owners in the global Pacific community was to search through hashtags on social media. We felt this way was a little flawed making it time consuming and difficult to find business, services and products easily and quickly.

We believe that the community & wider community globally as a whole deserves better. So, when we saw that there weren’t any relevant, updated directories of Pacific businesses on a local & global level, we decided to take matters into our own hands and create one.
