Our primary objectives include promoting NIUE Vanilla Organic and our beautiful island of NIUE.
NIUE Vanilla International (NVI) is also dedicated to creating new opportunities for all local vanilla farmers and providing a constant and reliable flow of income to Niuean families.
Vanilla orchids grew wild among the native trees in NIUE for over 25 years since their introduction to the island in 1991. It has a floral fragrance that is favoured by many who are familiar with its aroma. The local bean variety (Tahitiensis) is identified to take on a larger form and greater moister content when compared to Bourbon vanilla (Madagascar vanilla).
Vanilla Tahitensis variety comes from the fruit of a variety of orchids that are native to the South Pacific. Vanilla Tahitensis beans are plumber, high in the natural or organic compound called heliotropin with a high water and oil content.
Vanilla is a popular base ingredient of coffees, perfumes, cigars, sweets, pipe tobaccos, pastry, cakes and cocoa etc.
